1st Generation = A purebred maltese to a purebred poodle.

No other breed can enter the process.

2nd Generation = A 1st gen. maltipoo to a 1st gen maltipoo or ...........

A maltese to maltipoo

A poodle to a maltipoo

No other breed or cross can enter the process.

3rd Generation = 2nd gen. maltipoo to another 2nd gen. maltipoo, both bred only from 1st generation (Maltese to Poodle).

No other breed can enter the process .

A Maltipoo/Maltepoo can only come from a poodle and maltese background.

For example: A cockapoo to a Maltese is NOT a Maltipoo but a mix. Do not be fooled into thinking it is accepted. It is not accepted to mix three breeds (in this example, cocker spaniel and poodle and maltese) to get a maltipoo. No vet that is a good one would call that a Maltipoo.

The Standards above are the correct and only breeding practices that our club will accept as the correct way to breed a Maltipoo.
